Biography
I began my martial arts journey in 2016 with kickboxing and self-defense, expanding into Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2018. Over the past seven years, I have both trained and coached Muay Thai. My study and coaching of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been more intermittent since 2018, but I proudly earned my blue belt in December 2022.
Since the summer of 2022, I have worked closely with a physical therapist to overcome shoulder and elbow injuries. That process has given me renewed strength and perspective, deepening my understanding of training and recovery.
Martial arts has truly reshaped my life—pushing me to new heights physically, mentally, and emotionally. The skills I’ve developed continue to inspire growth in my training, coaching, and overall personal and professional development.
I am 38 years old, born in Warner Robins, Georgia, though I’ve called Colorado home for the past 35 years. I graduated from Legacy High School and have lived in the northern Denver area for most of my life. I am married to my fabulous wife, Buffy, and our two wonderful children, ages 21 and 18. Our family also includes three dogs—Hercules, Tonks, and Max.
Beyond martial arts, I enjoy riding my motorcycle and dirt bike, and I’ve been a musician for over 25 years. My focus has been on drums, percussion, and vocals, and I’ve been fortunate to perform at Red Rocks Amphitheater in the summer of 2023 with the band Rocket Surgeons, opening for Film on the Rocks. I also toured and recorded with country artist Ashton Lee Smith before dedicating myself fully to martial arts.
In addition, I am the founder and owner of Dreadnaut Fight Gear, a martial arts supply company serving practitioners across the greater Denver area.
I am honored to be part of the Lionheart team and look forward to continuing this journey of growth, learning, and contribution.
